In the aftermath of Cyclone Montha in Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu confirmed two fatalities, affirming that preemptive actions limited greater damage. The government has dedicated the next two days to intensified relief efforts for those affected by the storm.
Naidu has instructed officials to expedite the restoration of normalcy, urging ministers and administrative officers to assess conditions on-site and address residents' needs. Departments are tasked with evaluating storm damages to inform a report for the Union government, while essential goods are being distributed to the victims.
Praising the response efforts of SDRF, police, and fire departments, Naidu highlighted their successful removal of debris and electrical hazards. Approximately 10,000 personnel are on standby to restore power infrastructure. The Chief Minister is conducting aerial inspections of severely impacted districts, with plans to inspect flood-damaged agrarian areas by road.
