Rajasthan is setting a benchmark in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, as nearly 70.55% of its voters will not need to submit any documents, announced Chief Electoral Officer Naveen Mahajan on Tuesday.
The Election Department has completed exhaustive voter mapping, taking cues from the first phase of the exercise in Bihar, where document confusion prevailed.
Mahajan noted that as Booth Level Officers (BLOs) conduct home visits, this figure is expected to exceed 80%. Currently, Rajasthan outpaces other states in SIR, demonstrating effective voter mapping and leveraging digitized lists for cross-verification.
