Operation Shutter Down: Cyber Fraud Crackdown Unearths Massive Government Scheme Scam

The nationwide operation, 'Operation Shutter Down', has led to the arrest of six more people involved in a cyber fraud network targeting government welfare schemes, police confirmed on Monday. Officials said that raids conducted across Delhi, Punjab, and multiple cities in Rajasthan resulted in these arrests.
According to Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar from Jhalawar, the investigation uncovered a well-structured network that hacked into welfare portals, such as PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi and others, to perpetrate fraud. A special investigation team seized fraudulent data and digital equipment during these efforts.
Previous operations had already seen 30 arrests, with the confiscation of large sums of cash, electronic gadgets, and fraudulent bank account data. Authorities have frozen 11,000 suspicious bank accounts, revealing the extensive reach of this fraudulent operation.
