Three individuals have been apprehended for posing as Delhi Police officers to cheat a man out of Rs 2.20 lakh, authorities announced on Monday.

Assistant Sub-Inspector Surendra Singh from Haryana Police reported that on October 4, a complaint was lodged at the Cyber Police Station following a report received from the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal. The victim alleged he was misled into transferring funds after falling prey to an elaborate fraud.

An investigation revealed that the suspects impersonated police officials and a doctor, misleading the victim into believing he was the subject of false propaganda and a legal complaint. Legal and technical efforts led to the arrest of three suspects and the recovery of pertinent electronic devices.
