Seven employees of the Manipur State Power Company Limited have reportedly been attacked by unidentified individuals at a sub-station in Churachandpur district, according to an official statement made on Monday.

The corporation has condemned the assault, calling it a 'brutal' attack and urging authorities to investigate and bring the culprits to justice quickly.

This attack is set against a backdrop of intense ethnic violence between the Meiteis and Kuki-Zo groups since May 2023, which resulted in the imposition of President's rule after the resignation of Chief Minister N Biren Singh.
