A tragic blast at a fireworks manufacturing unit in Mundathicode, Kerala, has left several dead, with the identification process underway using DNA tests.

According to Kerala Health Minister Veena George, 13 individuals have died, while 13 others are receiving treatment, with some in critical condition at the Thrissur Medical College ICU. Psychological support is being offered to survivors.

Authorities report that fluctuating accounts hinder determining the exact number of people at the site during the explosion, initially estimated at 40. Residents recall blasts that commenced around 3:30 p.m., complicating rescue efforts, as firework production was in progress for the forthcoming Thrissur Pooram festival.
