The Kerala State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA) has detected alarming levels of ultraviolet (UV) radiation across the state over the last 24 hours, raising public health concerns.
Locations like Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, and Idukki have been placed under an orange alert for UV levels exceeding eight. Authorities urge residents to minimize sun exposure, particularly between 10 am and 3 pm.
Special advisories target outdoor workers, tourists, and individuals with health vulnerabilities, urging them to take protective measures. For real-time UV data, the public can access information from the 14 monitoring stations established by the KSDMA.
