The crackdown, resulting in the arrest of two individuals, has led to a nationwide alert aiming to identify and destroy these fake products.

The pharmaceutical giant, Eli Lilly, the original manufacturer of Mounjaro, has acknowledged the issue, emphasizing the importance of patient safety and praising regulatory actions against these illegal activities. According to a company spokesperson, Eli Lilly is fully cooperating with the authorities to combat the spread of these unsafe imitations.

Investigations have revealed a sophisticated network importing raw materials from China and producing fake injections in a Gurugram residential flat. Used machinery and packaging materials were seized, with further probes underway to uncover the breadth of the network distributing through online platforms like Indiamart.
