Authorities have unearthed a sophisticated operation manufacturing and selling counterfeit Mounjaro (tirzepatide) injections in Gurugram, leading to the arrest of two individuals, officials confirmed Monday.
Drug Control Officer Amandeep Chauhan announced a nationwide alert following the discovery, as investigations aim to dismantle the entire network involved in this illegal operation. The Health Department's raid in Sector 62 uncovered illicit manufacturing activities within a residential society, resulting in the capture of key suspects.
The counterfeit injections, marketed through the B2B portal Indiamart, pose significant health risks. Experts warn that such fraudulent medications could lead to severe health complications, underscoring the urgent need for vigilance in detecting and eliminating these threats.
