In a significant crackdown, Delhi Police have detained two individuals following the discovery of a counterfeit engine oil manufacturing setup in East Delhi's Ghazipur area, officials confirmed on Sunday.
During a raid conducted on Thursday, law enforcement officials seized approximately 700 litres of imitation engine oil packaged and labeled as prominent brands. Among the confiscated items were 28 oil cans of 20 litres each and 140 bottles of one litre, along with an additional 550 empty bottles, ready for fraudulent use.
The suspects, Rakesh Kumar Chhabra and Kuldeep Singh, allegedly began their illicit operations in 2022 after experiencing losses in their previous jobs. The police are working tirelessly to dismantle the entire supply chain involved in this fraudulent practice.
