Renowned artist Nalini Malani's profound engagement with Greek myth and contemporary issues will feature at the 61st International Art Exhibition - La Biennale di Venezia. Her latest mixed media work, 'Of Woman Born,' delves into the myth of Orestes, intertwining it with modern-day themes of war and patriarchal oppression.
The exhibition, arranged by the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art, transforms the historic Magazzini del Sale into a vivid 'thought chamber.' Through more than 30,000 iPad drawings and 67 animations, Malani narrates a compelling story of women's voices and global conflict, urging the audience to interpret and reflect.
Curated by Roobina Karode, the display is both a political and emotional demand for recognition and honoring of women's roles in society. The show runs alongside the biennale's full term, highlighting Malani's lifelong commitment to political, cross-cultural narratives.
