Delhi Steps Up Food Safety Measures Amid Festive Rush

The Delhi government has escalated its food safety measures across the national capital in response to directives from Health Minister Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh. An official statement revealed that 98 food samples were retrieved from operators across various districts during routine checks and special drives.

According to Dr. Singh, ensuring safe and hygienic food for all Delhi residents remains paramount, particularly during festive seasons. Fifty-four samples have so far been tested by the Food Safety Laboratory, with all meeting the required standards. Inspection efforts remain ongoing as further results are awaited.

The Food Safety Department's recent inspections during the Navratri festival targeted commonly consumed fasting items. Out of 165 samples collected for analysis, most conformed to safety norms, with non-compliant cases undergoing legal scrutiny. Essential measures continue to ensure public health through routine checks and zero-tolerance policies on adulteration.
