A 24-year-old woman tragically died during surgery for kidney stones in a private hospital in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh, sparking protests by her family against alleged medical negligence.
Identified as Anisha Rai, the deceased reportedly died due to excessive bleeding during the procedure on Sunday at a private facility in the Kotwali area. Distressed family members, led by her husband Shivanshu Rai, accused the hospital staff of misconduct, alleging that an abdominal surgery was performed instead of the promised laser-based operation.
The police have registered a case against five doctors involved, under charges of murder, while efforts to arrest the accused are ongoing. Authorities have assured the protesters of strict legal action following an in-depth investigation.
