Pipeline Progress: Druzhba's Crude Oil Transit Resumes

Ukraine has given Hungary's oil group MOL the green light to resume crude oil transit through the Druzhba pipeline to Hungary and Slovakia. This comes after the Ukrainian pipeline operator, JSC Ukrtransnafta, confirmed that necessary repairs have been completed.

The pipeline had been out of service since January 27, 2026, following force majeure conditions that affected the section operated by Ukrtransnafta. The cessation of these conditions marks a significant step towards normalizing supply routes in the region.

According to MOL, JSC Ukrtransnafta assured the company it is prepared to restart crude oil transit, effective from 6 pm on April 21, 2026. This closure had posed potential energy challenges for the countries dependent on the pipeline for energy transport.
