Himachal Police's Bold Move: Directorate Relocates for Progress

The Himachal Pradesh Police marked a significant administrative shift by transferring its Directorate of Communication and Technical Services (C&TS) from Shimla to Hamirpur. This initiative is part of a broader governmental push for decentralization, aimed at alleviating congestion in the state capital while fostering balanced regional development.

Previously, the directorate operated from the State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau's premises in Shimla. The relocation aligns with Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu's budgetary reforms, proposing a decentralization strategy to enhance institutional presence across Himachal's districts and bring essential technical and communication infrastructure closer to police units.

Officials highlight the strategic move’s potential to elevate operational efficiency within the police department, offering improved coordination, faster decision-making, and augmented technical support.
