On Thursday, thousands of devotees gathered at Shimla's iconic Jakhu Hanuman Temple to celebrate Hanuman Jayanti. The event saw an influx of political leaders, tourists, and locals who visited the sacred site to offer prayers. Among the visitors was Leader of Opposition and former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, who extended greetings to everyone on the auspicious occasion.

In an exclusive interview with ANI, Thakur expressed his appreciation for the overwhelming devotion visible at the temple, stating that the gathering represented a remarkable display of faith. He prayed for protection and prosperity for the state of Himachal Pradesh, noting the challenging financial situation reflected in the current budget session, which concluded on the same day.

Temple priest R.P. Sharma elaborated on the significance of Hanuman Jayanti, noting that the day marks the birth of Lord Hanuman, celebrated twice annually in various regional traditions. Special prayers and rituals were conducted as thousands of devotees arrived from early morning seeking blessings. Tourists also shared their delight; Karan Kumar from Haryana described his first visit to the temple as inspiring. Similarly, fellow tourist Tarun praised the efforts of the administration for ensuring a seamless experience.

Prominent political figures continued to visit throughout the day, including Himachal Pradesh Minister for Town and Country Planning and Technical Education Rajesh Dharmani, who offered prayers alongside his cabinet colleagues. Public Works Department Minister Vikramaditya Singh, accompanied by family, voiced his hopes for the state's prosperity under Lord Hanuman's guidance. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu also made an appearance, emphasizing the day’s inspirational message and praying for public welfare.

Additional security and administrative arrangements facilitated the smooth flow of visitors, contributing to the vibrant festive atmosphere in Shimla on Hanuman Jayanti. Overall, the celebrations underscored the deep-rooted cultural and religious fervor that continues to characterize the town.
