Karnataka Honors 158 Police Heroes on Flag Day

On Thursday, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah awarded the Chief Minister's Medal to 158 police personnel in a ceremony marking the annual Police Flag Day celebrations. These medals recognize their exemplary service in maintaining law and order across the state.

Addressing attendees, Siddaramaiah emphasized the continuous 24-hour dedication of police forces, even during festivals, to maintain peace and societal harmony. Stressing the importance of law and order for state prosperity, he shared that recent years have seen a decline in major crimes although challenges in cybercrime and drug-related offenses persist. He called for increased efforts for Karnataka to become drug-free.

Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwar echoed these sentiments, lauding the police department's integrity and achievements, including outstanding performance in Raichuru's Kavitala police station. Parameshwar also praised decisive action against drug crimes and the reduction in cybercrime rates, while highlighting recruitment and modernization efforts underway to transform the police force.
