In a decisive move to safeguard India's interests amid the escalating West Asia conflict, Prime Minister Narendra Modi presided over a Cabinet Committee on Security meeting on Wednesday to evaluate current and future strategies. Key priorities discussed included ensuring stable and diversified sources for petroleum products, particularly LNG and LPG, according to an official release.

Efforts are being ramped up to source LPG and LNG from diverse countries. Prime Minister Modi also emphasized securing the availability of fertilizers crucial for the Kharif and Rabi seasons, stressing that all necessary actions should be taken to protect citizens from the conflict's fallout. Ensuring accurate information dissemination to curb misinformation was emphasized.

The Cabinet Secretary outlined initiatives to maintain steady LPG prices for domestic consumers and emphasized anti-diversion measures against hoarding. Expansion of Piped Natural Gas connections and strategic interventions in agriculture, aviation, shipping, and logistics were also discussed. Coordination across government levels and diplomatic efforts to diversify global supply chains continue.
