With Tamil Nadu's assembly elections approaching, Congress secretary Nivedith Alva voiced firm confidence in the success of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK)-led alliance. Speaking with ANI, Alva emphasized the strength of the Congress-DMK partnership, highlighting their resolve to excel in the April 23 polls.
Alva remarked on the solid leadership of MK Stalin, Mallikarjun Kharge, and Rahul Gandhi, predicting a triumphant return to power for the incumbent government. This follows Chief Minister MK Stalin's call for party leaders to intensify efforts, ensuring the DMK prevails in every contested constituency.
The election schedule, released recently, marks a critical campaign window of 39 days until the state votes. Strong public support, fueled by the DMK's governance and welfare schemes over five years, is set to bolster their bid in the 234-seat assembly election. The Election Commission of India has slated vote counting for May 4, as the Model Code of Conduct is now active.
