Bridging the Execution Gap: Energy Efficiency in Indian Industry
A new report from ABB reveals that many industrial organizations in India are heavily investing in energy efficiency. Yet, execution gaps remain significant obstacles, despite high digital readiness and intent. Key challenges include resistance to new technology, workforce skills gaps, and siloed responsibility within organizations.
Energy efficiency is becoming a central issue at the board level, but many industrial organizations in India struggle to turn intent into sustained results, as highlighted in a recent ABB report.
The report, based on a survey of 2,700 senior decision-makers globally, including in India, found that while 64% have invested in energy efficiency, progress is obstructed by execution gaps. Rising energy costs, impacting 72% of companies, present further challenges, despite global declines.
The report emphasizes bridging execution gaps to enhance profitability and resilience in a volatile market, noting the need for a cultural shift toward sustainable practices. Resistance to new technology, skills shortages, and poor data utilization are key barriers.
