As Kerala gears up for the April 9 Assembly polls, a father-son duo has become the talk of the town in Kottayam district. Veteran politician P C George and his son Shone George are contesting as NDA candidates in constituencies notable for their Christian voters, Poonjar and Pala.

P C George, a seven-time MLA, and a national council member of the BJP, has a longstanding political presence in Poonjar. Shone George, serving as the state vice president, is a fresh candidate in Pala, challenging formidable opponents. The BJP has enthusiastically included them in its candidates' list to rally support in these crucial constituencies.

Despite initial reluctance, the Georges embraced the challenge posed by BJP leaders to contest from neighboring constituencies. Shone George confidently dismisses any notion of a triangular contest in Pala, asserting that the NDA has established a robust presence poised to make significant electoral gains.
