The prices of domestic and commercial LPG cylinders in India have seen a sharp increase, with domestic LPG going up by Rs 60 and commercial by Rs 114.5. This spike comes in the wake of rising global energy costs, attributed to the ongoing conflict in West Asia.

As per the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), non-subsidised domestic LPG now costs Rs 913 per 14.2-kg cylinder in Delhi, a significant rise from the previous Rs 853. This marks the second price hike in under a year, highlighting the impact of global energy price dynamics on domestic markets.

Despite the price escalation, India's LPG prices remain the lowest in the South Asian region. The revised rates, effective from March 7, also see commercial LPG prices increasing to Rs 1,883 per 19-kg cylinder in Delhi. The Ujjwala Yojana beneficiaries continue to receive subsidies, cushioning the impact for over 10 crore beneficiaries.
