North Korean leader Kim Jong Un marked the completion of 10,000 new residential units in Pyongyang, as reported by state media KCNA, setting the stage for the upcoming Ninth Congress of the ruling Workers' Party. The milestone is part of an ambitious target established during the Eighth Congress to build 50,000 housing units in Pyongyang.

Kim's daughter, Ju Ae, accompanied him at the completion ceremony for these new homes in the Hwasong District, where she was seen congratulating residents. Analysts speculate that Kim may be grooming her as his successor. The achievement signals significant progress and sets the tone for future objectives at the forthcoming congress.

State media also showcased Kim and Ju Ae visiting a nearby arcade, musical instrument shop, and animal hospital following the ceremony. Delegates participating in the upcoming congress began arriving in Pyongyang on Monday, suggesting the event will commence shortly, reflecting the schedule of previous congresses.
