Hyundai Motors Eyes Collaboration on Indonesia's National Car Ambition
Hyundai Motor has shown keen interest in joining Indonesia's initiative to develop a national car, as confirmed by Indonesia's economic ministry. President Prabowo Subianto has outlined plans for manufacturing within three years, with Hyundai already operational in West Java and invested in local battery production.
 
 In a significant development, Hyundai Motor is considering participation in Indonesia's ambitious national car project, as disclosed by Indonesia's economic ministry on Friday. The move follows recent talks in Gyeongju, South Korea, between Indonesian officials and Hyundai Motor Group President Sung Kim.
Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has announced plans for the country to manufacture its own national car within three years, with a budget set and land allocated for the production facilities. This strategic effort has gained the interest of Hyundai, a top global automaker, already operational in West Java.
Hyundai, alongside LG Energy Solution, has previously pioneered Indonesia's first battery cell production plant. This highlights their ongoing investment in the region and sets the stage for possible further involvement in the automotive sector.
