Intoxicated Tempo Driver Creates Chaos at Police Check-Post
A tempo driver allegedly under the influence of alcohol caused a scene at a police check-post in Kalyan, Maharashtra, by manhandling officers and damaging property. The driver, Mahesh Malhari Salunke, was arrested after threatening police and inflicting injuries upon himself during the altercation.

An incident of chaos unfolded at a police check-post in Kalyan, Maharashtra, late Thursday night. A tempo driver, suspected to be intoxicated, allegedly attacked two police officers and vandalized their check-post after being asked to take a breathalyser test.
The driver, identified as Mahesh Malhari Salunke, reportedly abused and threatened the police. He also claimed he would commit suicide and subsequently injured himself by smashing his head against the check-post window, breaking the glass.
The police have registered a case against Salunke at Kolsewadi police station under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Salunke faces charges including assault and causing intentional harm to deter public servants from duty, along with charges of vandalism.
