The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has taken action on a complaint by a retired Railway employee, prompting an investigation into claims of systematic exploitation and unfair labor practices against station masters, particularly in the Central Zone.
Retired station master Virendra Kumar Paliwal's complaint highlights severe allegations including unpaid overtime, excessive work hours, and violations of constitutional rights and labor laws. The NHRC has demanded the Railway Board and the Chief Labour Commissioner to submit a report on the actions taken within four weeks.
Paliwal asserts these practices endanger the safety and health of employees and railway operations, citing concerns like fabricated rosters, unauthorized reports, and violation of employment regulations. He urged authorities to address these issues and uphold the rights and dignity of station masters.
