Goa Govt Assures Rain-Relief Aid for Paddy Farmers

In a significant move for the state's agricultural sector, Goa's Chief Minister Pramod Sawant confirmed on Wednesday that paddy farmers impacted by relentless rains would receive monetary compensation.

Issued under the Shetkari Aadhar Nidhi scheme, the assistance will provide Rs 40,000 per hectare, with a maximum limit of Rs 1.6 lakh for those controlling up to four hectares. This initiative aims to mitigate losses experienced due to adverse weather conditions.

Sawant assured that fund distribution would be finalized by December, reinforcing the government's commitment to support and uplift the agricultural community in Goa during challenging times.
