The Mahagathbandhan coalition, spearheaded by the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress, launched its election manifesto 'Bihar Ka Tejashwi Pran' on Tuesday. The document promises sweeping reforms, including legislation to secure government employment for one member from every family in Bihar within 20 days of taking office.
The manifesto outlines plans for the 'Mai-Behin Maan Yojana', granting monthly financial aid of Rs 2,500 to women starting December 1 for five years. The Opposition alliance commits to reinstating the Old Pension Scheme, a move widely anticipated following its reintroduction in Himachal Pradesh by a Congress-led government.
Amid discussions on religious minority rights, the coalition pledged to halt the Waqf (Amendment) Act's implementation and transfer Buddhist temple management in Bodh Gaya to the Buddhist community. Education, energy, and agriculture sectors also stand to benefit from proposals such as enhanced reservations, free electricity, and revived mandis, ensuring their robust development.
