On Tuesday, the Mahagathbandhan, spearheaded by the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress, unveiled its manifesto titled 'Bihar Ka Tejashwi Pran.' The alliance pledged substantial socioeconomic changes, including legislation within 20 days to provide a government job for one member of every Bihar family.
Key promises of the manifesto feature the implementation of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS), financial aid of Rs 2,500 per month to women under the 'Mai-Behin Maan Yojana,' raising reservations for marginalized communities, and pausing the contentious Waqf (Amendment) Bill for better transparency and welfare.
Among agricultural and economic reforms, the manifesto guarantees free electricity, the procurement of crops at minimum support prices, and the revival of the APMC Act. The Mahagathbandhan also vows to offer free health insurance coverage up to Rs 25 lakh, positioning them as a primary contender in the upcoming Bihar elections against the NDA.
