The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has been distinguished with the ICI Awards 2025 by the Indian Concrete Institute (ICI), based in Chennai. This accolade comes under the 'Outstanding Prestressed Concrete Structure in the Country Award' category, recognizing the Maujpur-Majlis Park corridor.

The official award ceremony is to coincide with ACECON's quinquennial conference in December 2025 in Hyderabad. The Maujpur-Majlis Park link is crucial for Delhi Metro's Phase-IV growth, extending the Pink Line and ultimately forming India's first circular metro, set to boost connectivity and mobility in the capital.

In a parallel development, DMRC unveiled 'DMRC Pay powered by BHIM,' a seamless UPI payment feature integrated within the Delhi Metro Sarthi app, developed in collaboration with NPCI BHIM Services Limited (NBSL). This venture simplifies ticket purchases, forgoing external payment gateways, and enhancing commuter convenience.

In a social media post, DMRC heralded the launch of 'DMRC Pay powered by BHIM,' emphasizing its role in advancing digital ease and cashless travel. Through this system, commuters can effortlessly buy tickets, register UPI IDs, and link bank accounts or RuPay cards within the app.

DMRC becomes a pioneer as the first public sector entity implementing advanced UPI solutions, thus improving the daily commute experience for millions of users. Additionally, the Delhi Metro Sarthi app expands its service with ticketing options for the 'Jai Hind Sound and Light Show' at Red Fort, presenting an immersive historical narrative without an extra convenience fee.
