In a noteworthy development at the Delhi High Court, Justices Dinesh Mehta, Avneesh Jhingan, and Chandrasekharan Sudha were officially inducted as judges. The ceremonial swearing-in was conducted under the aegis of Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya, with a gathering of esteemed legal professionals, including senior advocates and family members of the new appointees.

Chief Justice Upadhyaya, during the proceedings, formally welcomed the arrivals who now undertake judicial responsibilities in the national capital. The Union Ministry of Law and Justice recently provided the green light for these appointments, transferring the judges through notifications under Article 222 of the Constitution of India. The move brings these seasoned judges from different high courts to shore up the Delhi High Court's expertise.

This transition stems from the recommendations of the Supreme Court Collegium, spearheaded by Chief Justice of India B.R. Gavai. The reshuffle included the transfer of Justices Arun Monga and Tara Vitasta Ganju to other judicial territories. Significantly, this reorganization shifts the seniority landscape within the Delhi High Court, positioning judges from external courts into key administrative roles, thus potentially reshaping decision-making within the judiciary.
