In a touching social media interaction, Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded a Chhath song from Bihar, emphasizing the cultural and spiritual importance of the upcoming festival. Taking to X on Friday, the PM expressed his anticipation for the 'great festival of Chhath,' which is deeply rooted in the traditions of nature and cultural worship.
Modi further highlighted the role of Chhath songs, often dedicated to Chhathi Maiya, in enriching the festivity with grandeur and divinity. He urged citizens to share their cherished Chhath songs, promising to circulate them among fellow citizens in the coming days via his social media platforms.
The four-day Chhath Puja, to be celebrated from October 25 to 28, honors the Sun God with rituals like Nahay-Khay and Usha Arghya. It is significant in Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Nepal. The Indian Railways is gearing up to handle the festival's travel surge, with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw monitoring arrangements for a safe journey.
