Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis extended greetings to Chhath Puja devotees during his visit to Mumbai's Juhu Beach on Monday, emphasizing the government's support for the festival.
The event gains added political importance this year as civic elections approach in Mumbai, which hosts a considerable north Indian voter base, and simultaneous elections occur in Bihar.
Despite fluctuating weather conditions, numerous devotees engaged in the four-day celebrations, which began on October 25, to honor deities 'Chhathi Maiya' and the sun god.
