Northeast Frontier Railway Boosts Special Trains Amidst Festive Surge

During the festive season, Northeast Frontier Railway has implemented special arrangements, including the operation of over 48 festival trains across key routes, to accommodate increased passenger demand. Northeast Frontier Railway's General Manager Chetan Kumar Shrivastava announced a boost in special train services to handle the festive rush. Addressing a press conference in Guwahati, Shrivastava detailed the extensive measures taken to accommodate the surge in passengers during the festive period, including Puja, Diwali, and Chhath.

Indian Railways is deploying 12,011 special trains, a significant increase from the previous year's 7,724, with 48 special trains dedicated to the Northeast Frontier Railway zone. These trains are running 620 trips from September to December 2025, to facilitate smooth travel.

Enhanced passenger facilities such as additional ticket counters and automatic vending machines have been set up at major stations. Special trains connect key destinations like Amritsar, Patna, and Kolkata. Comprehensive crowd management measures are also in place for passenger safety and assistance.
