Railways Ramp Up Festive Season Monitoring
The Indian Railways is intensifying monitoring efforts at multiple levels to manage passenger rush during the festive season. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw highlighted real-time surveillance through CCTV and a dedicated war room, facilitating crowd control and monitoring special train operations to ensure efficient passenger management.

The festive season brings an inevitable surge of passengers at railway stations, prompting a multi-tiered monitoring system by the Indian Railways. Efforts are being made to manage the crowds effectively, with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw emphasizing real-time monitoring at the divisional, zonal, and railway board levels.
While speaking to the press from the Rail Bhawan's War Room, Vaishnaw highlighted the use of CCTV technology for constant surveillance of passenger arrivals. This real-time data allows officials to make immediate decisions on crowd control measures, especially at high-traffic stations.
Vaishnaw also outlined plans to establish permanent holding areas at key railway stations, a strategy showing success at New Delhi Railway Station during peak times. Additionally, he reassured the public that any delays in special train services are being closely monitored and addressed by senior officials.
