The Delhi government has announced the approval of 758 new positions within the Department of Social Welfare, aiming to enhance care for those with intellectual disabilities residing in its five residential homes.
The strategic move intends to boost the quality of services and ensure meticulous supervision, as stated in an official circular. Facilities including the Asha Kiran Home Complex in Rohini and centers at Narela, Najafgarh, Jail Road, and Dallupura are set to benefit from this initiative.
Officials noted that by late 2024, the Asha Kiran complex struggled with severe staffing deficiencies and overcrowding, having lost 14 inmates in July to these dire conditions. New appointments are aimed at tackling these pressing issues efficiently.
