Dattatreya Hosabale, the general secretary of the RSS, has dismissed comparisons between the organisation and the American Ku Klux Klan, insisting that such narratives misrepresent the RSS's societal contributions. Speaking at the New India Conference, Hosabale highlighted the RSS's initiatives across various sectors.
Hosabale emphasized that the RSS promotes social harmony and is active in areas such as education, healthcare, rural development, and environmental issues. He stressed that Hindu philosophy, which underpins the RSS, views global humanity as one family, negating any supremacist ideology.
Furthermore, Hosabale argued that cultural values and modernisation can coexist, as evidenced in countries like India, Japan, and China. He believes that embracing modernisation does not necessarily mean discarding cultural values, but requires their adaptation to contemporary contexts.
