In a display of civic responsibility, renowned actor Vijay Sethupathi stepped out on Thursday to cast his vote in Chennai during the ongoing Tamil Nadu assembly elections. Sethupathi, known for his influential roles, voted at the Anna Nagar assembly constituency, emphasizing the critical importance of participating in the democratic process. "Everyone come and vote, this is our most important responsibility... Best wishes to all the youth," Sethupathi stated.
Meanwhile, actor Jiiva joined the electoral exercise at the Dakshina Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha polling station in T. Nagar. He patiently waited in line for over two hours, symbolizing his commitment to civic duty. Underscoring the need for youth involvement in politics, Jiiva said, "Young citizens must actively engage in the democratic process and step into politics to bring about meaningful change." Similarly, actor-producer VTV Ganesh stressed the importance of young voters exercising their rights as he cast his ballot at the Government Model Higher Secondary School in Nandanam.
Echoing these calls for civic engagement, Mathew Varghese highlighted voters' pivotal role in shaping the future. After casting his vote in Nandanam, he expressed contentment with fulfilling his constitutional duty and hoped for increased voter turnout this year. The election day saw other noteworthy figures, such as Chief Minister MK Stalin, leaders like TVK chief Vijay, and actors Rajinikanth and Dhruv Vikram, participating in the electoral process. As Tamil Nadu holds elections for its 234 assembly constituencies, the battle intensifies between the DMK-led alliance and the AIADMK-led NDA.
