On Tuesday, President Droupadi Murmu is set for a landmark visit to Rourkela, Odisha, marking her maiden trip to the steel city in Sundargarh district. Official sources confirm she will inaugurate a new planetarium, a tribal museum, and the Nirmal Munda Parivesh Path, honoring the memory of a notable tribal leader.
President Murmu’s agenda includes landing at Veer Surendra Sai Airport in Jharsuguda and then helicoptering to Rourkela. Authorities have implemented extensive security measures in Rourkela and Jharsuguda, focusing particularly on Sector 13, where her public address will take place, along with secure convoy routes.
The Jharsuguda administration has declared the area a 'no-fly' and 'no-drone zone' in light of the President's visit. Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram emphasized that the President's inaugural visit aims to significantly uplift the region's development.
