On the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya, thousands of devotees congregated at Mathura's major temples, including the iconic Banke Bihari Temple, to offer prayers and partake in long-standing traditions. The day marks a significant religious event where followers honor Lord Krishna with special rituals and ceremonies.
The traditions, as recounted by Gyanendra Kishor Goswami, a priest at the Banke Bihari Temple, include dressing the deity in a yellow 'pitambari' and offering sandalwood laddus at the deity's feet. Meanwhile, the rituals at Radha Raman Temple featured a unique attire of sandalwood-made crown and flute, with fruits like muskmelon included in offerings.
In light of the festivities, Mathura's authorities have implemented enhanced security measures, dividing the city into zones for better management. Senior officers have overseen arrangements, ensuring smooth proceedings and an improved experience for attendees with facilities such as live TV streams and LED panels.
