The Delhi government eyes a significant cultural and business development with its plan to establish a Rs 200 crore Unity Mall at Pitampura's Dilli Haat. The initiative, driven by the Centre's One District One Product scheme, positions the mall as a platform for artisans and local products.
Envisioned by the Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation (DTTDC), the Unity Mall will house 36 stalls representing various states and Union Territories, facilitating the sale of district-specific items. The facility will include public conveniences, exhibition zones, and dedicated areas for cultural events and conferences.
This ambitious project, blending traditional architecture with modern amenities, is part of a broader 'Make in India' framework, aiming to sustain rural artisans by expanding their market reach. The mall will cover at least 1,200 square meters, with detailed planning underway by an appointed architectural consultant.
