Actress and content creator Kusha Kapila has refuted the common belief that content creators are cast in OTT series and films purely due to their burgeoning follower count. In recent statements, Kapila stressed that true success in the acting realm is a product of meticulous planning and investment, rather than social media clout.
Soon to appear in the upcoming season of 'Maamla Legal Hai', Kapila shared with ANI that the trend of casting content creators began around three to four years ago, often relegating them to peripheral, comic relief roles. "These roles added minimal value to the projects," she noted, countering the perception that follower count translates to substantial success in acting.
Kapila highlighted the achievements of fellow content creators turned actors like Bhuvan Bam and Prajakta Koli, who have evolved their careers through strategic project involvement. She advocates for creators to discern between meaningful roles and purely marketing-driven offers, urging them to decline opportunities that compromise their artistic integrity.
