A wedding celebration in Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior district took a violent turn when a group of guests allegedly assaulted the newlyweds and their families over a liquor-related dispute, according to police reports.

The altercation occurred on Tuesday night in Patai village, Aron. Some members of the groom's family sustained injuries, and household items alongside money were purportedly stolen during the ruckus. The City Superintendent of Police, Manish Yadav, revealed that the tension started when the groom, Mahesh Jatav, refused to provide liquor to some neighbors during the festivities.

Jatav's mother, Sheela, described the events, stating that after the bride's arrival, neighbors demanded money for liquor. Upon refusal, they allegedly assaulted her family, including the groom, herself, her husband, and the bride. Police investigations are ongoing.
