Sean 'Diddy' Combs, the notable rap mogul, has had his prison release date shifted yet again. Initially slated for June 4, 2028, it was first adjusted to April 25 of that year, before being moved up further to April 15, 2028, as per Federal Bureau of Prisons records. His 50-month sentence for prostitution-related charges is being served at Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institution in New Jersey, reports E! News.
Combs was sentenced in October to over four years of imprisonment, with an additional five years of supervised release and a $500,000 fine. The judgment followed a court argument where the proposed 135-month sentence from prosecutors was deemed excessive, while the defense's 14-month suggestion was inadequate. Combs publicly expressed deep regret, attributing his actions to drug influence and a lack of control, as per NBC News.
Amid his incarceration, musical peer Usher acknowledged Combs' influence in the music scene. Speaking on Combs' legacy, Usher highlighted the mogul's contributions as a Black entrepreneur and cultural trailblazer, adding that while all have flaws, Combs' accomplishments shouldn’t be overshadowed. His remarks were captured in a recent interview reported by E! News.
