At the ninth International Santal Conference held in Bidhannagar, West Bengal, President Droupadi Murmu lamented the lack of recognition for the Santal community's role in India's freedom struggle.
She emphasized the need for education among Santal children and the significance of the Ol Chiki script, introduced by Pandit Raghunath Murmu in 1925, as a unifying symbol of Santal identity.
The President also challenged award recipients to honor their titles by contributing positively to society.
