The Pushkar Cattle Fair in Rajasthan is set to feature some of the most valuable livestock in the country, with animals such as a Rs 15 crore horse and a Rs 23 crore buffalo capturing the spotlight. The fair, which runs from October 30 to November 5, has drawn eager traders and enthusiasts to its vibrant grounds.
Among the notable attractions is Shahbaz, a two-and-a-half-year-old Marwari horse from Chandigarh, owned by breeder Gary Gill. With multiple show victories under its belt, Shahbaz has already seen offers reaching Rs 9 crore. Another crowd favorite is Anmol, a regal buffalo maintained on a daily diet of milk and delicacies, priced at Rs 23 crore by its owner, Palmindra Gill.
Enhanced security measures are in place, with over 2,000 police personnel deployed to manage the massive turnout. The Animal Husbandry Department is ensuring animal welfare through rigorous health checks, while contests and trading continue to thrive in the bustling fairgrounds.
