Arunachal Pradesh's Deputy Chief Minister, Chowna Mein, launched the Walong cycling expedition at the Golden Pagoda in Namsai to commemorate the 63rd Walong Day. This event celebrates the region's enduring spirit of bravery, patriotism, and unity, transcending its humble beginnings to become a proud tradition.
The Deputy Chief Minister paid homage to the valiant soldiers of the 1962 India-China War, underscoring their courage against adversity. He emphasized Arunachal Pradesh's unwavering commitment to national unity and announced the establishment of a Second World War Museum in Changlang district to honor the region's wartime history.
The expedition included a robust turnout, with 100 cyclists, split between local participants and Indian Army personnel, fostering a patriotic spirit. The event also highlighted future plans, such as a jeep journey retracing wartime routes to boost heritage tourism and regional adventure.
