Arunachal Pradesh's Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein has unveiled plans to bolster eco-tourism through the establishment of a nature trail and angling site in the Kamlang Tiger Reserve, situated in Lohit district. The initiative aims at fostering tourism while empowering local communities.
During the Wakro Butterfly Meet at the Kamlang Tiger Reserve and Wildlife Sanctuary, Mein reiterated the importance of conserving biodiversity. He announced plans for a butterfly park and praised ongoing efforts by local clubs and experts in sustaining the region's ecological diversity.
The Deputy Chief Minister commended the Kamlang Valley Nature Club and other groups for their continued dedication. Emphasizing the region's rich butterfly diversity, he noted that 582 species have been recorded, underscoring Arunachal Pradesh's ecological significance and potential for sustainable economic growth through eco-tourism.
