The Archaeological Society of India (ASI) has vowed to take appropriate action after a video surfaced showing a youth in Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj costume being denied entry to Vasai Fort went viral on social media. The incident, occurring on the outskirts of Mumbai, ignited widespread criticism online.
The young man had visited the historic fort to create a tribute video to the iconic Maratha king, but was blocked by security personnel enforcing restrictions on filming at the site. This enforcement, the youth claimed, was selectively applied, suggesting that unauthorized activities such as pre-wedding photoshoots and dance videos were overlooked.
The video of his interaction with security has sparked backlash from social media users, prompting Kailas Shinde, the ASI official overseeing Vasai Fort, to announce that the situation is under review and they are committed to resolving the matter appropriately.
