Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a scathing attack on Akhilesh Yadav, branding him a 'traitor' to Lord Ram and Krishna. This remark follows criticism of Yadav's controversial statements concerning the lighting of diyas during Ayodhya's annual Deepotsav festival.
Adityanath articulated his disapproval during the 'Vichar-Parivar Kutumb Sneh Milan' and 'Deepotsav Se Rashtrotsav' events. He accused Yadav of disregarding the contributions of the Prajapati community, which specializes in pottery and makes the earthen lamps used in the celebrations, and questioned Yadav's understanding of Hindu cultural values.
Highlighting the festival's global appeal, Adityanath emphasized that Ayodhya's grandeur should be celebrated. He criticized Yadav's suggestion to adopt Christmas-style illuminations, calling it dismissive of deep-rooted Hindu traditions and the local economy. The Chief Minister also recalled past actions by Yadav's party against Ram devotees to underline his point.
